When I was a little girl I wanted to be called Sue. I did not want to be different than everyone else. I did not want this funny name. Breida (it rhymes with cheetah – if cheetah were to have a “d” in it. . .). If you met me when I was 4 you would inevitably say, “Oh, hi there honey, what’s your name?” And I would say, “Breida”. And you would say “Rita?” And I would say, “No. Breida. With a B.” This process did not stop when I was 4 or 14. I am now approaching 40 and, though I try very hard to ennunciate when I introduce myself, the process is still on going.
And so – here I am. Breida with a B. Thank God my name isn’t Sue. Would you be reading my blog if my name were Sue?
I grew up and decided to give my children silly Irish names that no one has ever heard of. We are in this together. They’ll appreciate it when they’re older. . .
I am lucky enough to have spent the last 10 years at home with these two amazing people with the silly Irish names and with my husband (Mr. Social Media). He is an expert (really and truly) on all things related to computers, software, social media. . . I cannot say the same thing about myself. I am however resolved to learn – about how to make this blog work and quite a few other things.
I’ve recently begun selling the painted furniture pieces that I work on. You can see everything I have available in my Etsy Store.
