Let me start off by saying that I am overwhelmed at the response to yesterday’s post. It’s left me wondering just what it was about that post that seems to have struck a chord with so many readers. Don’t get too excited (I know you’re not that excited – but I am) – in the grand scheme of bloggers I am but a mere blip – but the number of people who read yesterday’s post set a new record for me. (That is if you don’t include my post about the llamas that appeared on the Albany Times Union website). So, thank you. If you like what you see and read here – please consider subscribing to breida with a b. via email – (just there, on the sidebar).
Now, yesterday’s post was about the sewing machine getting repaired and I’m hoping it will all work out and I’ll be able to pick it up tomorrow afternoon. Having the sewing machine is not going to help when it comes to my son though – who, as of yesterday, is down to ONE pair of pants. It seems like we come to this same point every year. C’mon warm weather!! He, of course, does not care. He would just wear the one pair of jeans everyday (even if I didn’t wash them). He will do anything to avoid being taken shopping – I think he’d wear his pajamas to school rather than go shopping.
I have a few projects in the works that I’d like to get finished before I start any sewing. Some are already started and nearing completion (can’t wait for tomorrow’s post!) and some are nearing the dangerous line of being stuck in my head. It’s time for them to come on out. Hopefully this weekend. I’m also excited about my first guest blogging opportunity!! I’ll be working up that project this weekend as well and hopefully you’ll come and visit me at Days of Chalk and Chocolate when that gets arranged!
Here are a couple of sneek peeks at what I’ll be working on:
This antique cabinet that my mother painted for me (when i was a teenager) will be getting a makeover
This little stand has been living out in someone’s barn for quite a while – time for a redo!
You can see here that the top has been covered up with this little piece of plywood – I’ll have to pry that off.
These should give me enough work for a few days! I can’t wait to see what the finished product looks like! I hope you’ll keep coming back to check and see when they’re done – and let me know what you think. Do you think it’s awful that I’m going to paint out the cabinet my mother did for me? Fear not! I have her blessing and permission!
See you tomorrow!
